REVIEW: Bioderma Sebium Facial Cleanser

I'm very particular about my makeup remover because of my oily, acne-prone skin. I avoid those with alcohol and never that would be too oily. The only one I've stuck with is Shu Uemura's Cleansing Oil but I find it too expensive for everyday use. I was really happy to discover Bioderma, a French brand that specializes in skin care that targets the different skin types. Moreover, this does not cause me to break out.

Bioderma website says:

BIODERMA innovation, Sébium H2O gently cleanses the skin without drying it, through the micro-emulsion of impurities and excess sebum.

Enriched with purifying active ingredients, Sébium H2O cleanses the epidermis in depth and regulates secretion of sebum. The patented sebo-correcting complex, Fluidactiv®, normalises sebum quality.

Sébium H2O guarantees excellent cutaneous and ocular tolerance.

 Sébium H2O is non-comedogenic.

I pour about 4-5 drops on a cotton pad to clean my face from makeup. I say drops because it doesn't flow freely from the bottle which I prefer since it is not wasteful. If I wear BB cream and blush, I can do with just one cotton pad. Full makeup uses 3-5 cotton pads depending on how heavy my eye makeup is. It leaves no oily residue and my skin feels clean and just a bit dry after. However, I still wash my face with mild soap because I really just can't sleep without washing my face. It can remove regular mascara and kohl liner. However, it is not enough for waterproof mascara and gel/ liquid eye liner. For the eyes, I put 3-4 drops in the cotton pad and press it onto my eyes for a few seconds to soften the makeup then wipe it off. If after the third try I still can't clear the makeup, I use my cleansing oil.

Bioderma website says:

Properties
Fragranced formula.
Non-comedogenic, alcohol-free, no colorant.
Transparent bottle with dispenser cap - 500 ml.

Ingredients
WATER (AQUA), PEG-6 CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES, SODIUM CITRATE , ZINC GLUCONATE, COPPER SULFATE, GINKGO BILOBA EXTRACT, MANNITOL, XYLITOL, RHAMNOSE, FRUCTOOLIGOSACCHARIDES, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, CITRIC ACID, DISODIUM EDTA, CETRIMONIUM BROMIDE, FRAGRANCE (PARFUM).

There are two kinds of this cleanser, Sebium and Crealine. Sebium is for Oily or Combination skin and has a green bottle cap. Crealine is for Sensitive skin and has a red bottle cap. They have the same price and comes in the same size. I got the Sebium H2O.

The best thing about it is that it's alcohol free and that it's non-comedogenic. It comes in 250 ml and 500 ml bottle. I've been using my bottle for about 3 months already and only about 1/12 of it has been used up.

BUY IT:
  • Wants ALCOHOL-FREE, NON-COMEDOGENIC, NO COLORANT.
  • Wants a cheap but effective makeup remove or facial cleanser
  • Does not want oily residue
  • Does not like washing face (seriously, that's so wrong)
DO NOT BUY IT:
  • Don't want the dry feeling
  • Needs something for waterproof eye makeup
I got mine from Sasa in Hong Kong for about 800 php because it was on sale at the time of purchase. The regular price is about a thousand pesos. In Manila, you can check out Digital Traincase :)
